UCLA and Jules Stein Eye Institute Ranked #1 in the West
U.S. News & World Report published its 2008 survey of "America's Best Hospitals" and once again Jules Stein Eye Institute ranked among the top five eye care centers in the country and number one in the West. Rankings for ophthalmology are based on reputational scores from board-certified specialists who were surveyed over the past three years.
UCLA Medical Center is recognized as one of the top three hospitals nationwide and number one in the West. It is the only Southern California hospital to earn a spot on the magazine’s “honor roll” rankings every year since U.S. News & World Report has conducted the survey.
The honor roll recognizes hospitals that demonstrate excellence across many specialties. UCLA specialty areas ranked in the top twenty in the latest survey are:

This is the 19th consecutive year that U.S. News & World Report has conducted the survey and the 19th time that UCLA Medical Center and Jules Stein Eye Institute have appeared among the nation's top health care centers.
